Festival of Colors

Each year at the Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork, thousands gather for the Festival of Colors. It is a traditional Indian holiday to celebrate the arrival of spring. Although it snowed the day before and the ground was muddy, people still came! There was music, dancing, and brightly colored powder being thrown everywhere.

It was amazing to see in person!

I'm so glad I was able to participate and witness the celebration! Unfortunately, Logan wasn't able to come because of work/school obligations but it was still fun going with my sister in-law (Heidi) and a few friends (Kim, Kirstie, and Jeff).

What a beautiful, colorful day! I highly recommend going, at least once :)

Half Point (week 21)

I can't believe that we are past the half-way mark! In less than 20 weeks, our sweet baby boy will be with us! We are so excited :) Baby Corbett is the most active once I get home from work, and before bed time. A couple weeks ago, I felt him kick for the first time. It was right after I ate chocolate and drank a glass of delicious Black Cherry flavored kool-aid. I know, not the best, but I was seriously craving it!! The baby sure loves his sugar (just like his mama)! He also loves it when Logan talks to him because he kicks for that too! It's sooo cute! I love it!

We have a couple boy names (two, actually) that we love, but it's not set in stone just yet. Any boy name suggestions? Let us know! Logan and I are really picky when it comes to names. I am really surprised we found two names that we BOTH agreed on! Also, to all you moms out there, did you wait until the baby was born to announce the name or did you let everyone know before? I am having a hard time deciding. Logan wants to wait, but I am not sure.

Here is the baby bump picture you have been dying to see...

 Week 21

I think I grew a lot this past week. I also wore a slightly tighter shirt so you could see it better, Mom :)

Marriage

Husband is going snow cave camping with the scouts this weekend (without me). Initially, I was a little worried because 1) I have never been snow cave camping before (thus, I can’t give any input) and 2) it’s been a long time since husband has been snow cave camping. I freaked out when he said he was planning to go a few weeks ago. Who goes snow cave camping? Why would you ever go camping in the freezing cold, let alone in the snow? Is it safe? Is it even fun?

Husband assured me that he would be safe and that it is indeed a fun experience. Well, being the paranoid person I am....I was still not convinced. I made him e-mail me everything the scout leaders gave him, so I could sift through it and make sure he would not forget anything.

I would elaborate more, but I'll just let you read our lovely conversation on g-mail (about snow cave camping) that pretty much sums up my worrisome personality, Logan’s laid-back attitude, and our marriage. It was too good not to post. Enjoy :)

me:  it's going to be cold so you need to be prepared!!
 Logan:  I'll be prepared
don't worry
me:  you haven't done this in a long time so I am worried
 Logan:  ha ha
me:  maybe you should call your dad and ask him
 Logan:  It'll be fine
I'll wear lots of socks and stay warm
me:  good because I won't be there to cuddle with you when you get cold!!!
Logan:  I know that'll be sad!
I could just sneak out at night and come home to sleep
I need to bring glow sticks to play capture the flag
and my Frisbee
 me:  okay sounds good
it sounds like you know what you are doing
 Logan: I pretend to
me:  pretend? I sure hope you know what you are doing!!
just come back in one piece!
 Logan:  I will
I'm a survivor
I'll teach the kids how to walk on ice
I hope the leaders aren't uptight stinkers
that could really ruin the mojo
me:  just be like your dad and do your own thing
the kids will like you better
but be smart like your dad too!
 Logan:  I always am
We will get a hill and sled and go bowling for boy scouts!!!
Hooray!!
YEAH!!
me:  I really don't want to get a call in the middle of the night with a message that says...."hello mrs. corbett, you need to come pick up your husband because he's misbehaving"
 Logan:  ha ha
but you would love that!!!

Maybe it's the motherly instinct coming out of me already? Yes? Or, maybe I've just always been this way? Oh well. I'm just glad husband puts up with it all.

He leaves on Friday....wish me and the boy some luck!

Vegas!!

Logan and I had a great weekend! We went down to Central, UT to spend time with G-ma & G-pa Corbett, and also spent a whole day in Vegas! It was so much fun. We had a great time. We walked the strip, went window shopping, went to my favorite hotel (Bellagio) to see the conservatory and water show, watched the BYU game, and met up with my Aunt Martha for dinner! She was so sweet and brought us a crib and swing set for our little baby (we set it up today and it looks great--pictures to come soon)!!

It was awesome getting out of town for a few days. The weather was perfect--mid 70's. Logan was so excited to wear shorts for the first time this year! It was SO great! Here are some pictures...

The conservatory in the Bellagio was all decked out for spring with butterfly decorations everywhere.

There was a super bright Ferris wheel in the conservatory too. It looked awesome!

There was a greenhouse with real butterflies. So cool.

It's a.....

BOY, OH BOY!!!!!!

Isn't he adorable?

Look at that leg...tiny, yes, but he's going to be a soccer player!

150 BPM (beats per minute)

I am at exactly 19 weeks and have gained three pounds so far! Yes!
(I promise I don't wear green every single day; I just happen to be wearing that color when we take belly pictures).

We are so excited to add a baby BOY to our family!
And yes, I am happy AND excited even though I was rooting for a girl :)

We went in early this morning for the ultrasound and we left with NO gender prediction. The baby had the umbilical cord between its legs (Logan says the baby was having a wedgie issue, if you will). Poor little baby did NOT move away from the cord even with all the poking and chocolate consuming I did in the 45 minutes we were there. The technician said it looked like a boy, but she was not certain. So, she asked us to come back later that day to try again. We were so grateful for that; we did not want to wait the entire weekend to know the baby's gender.

approximately 8 hours later...

We went in for our second ultrasound (gender check). Within 5 minutes, the technician looked at us and said: "It's a boy! That is definitely a boy part!"

YAY! We are so excited! Baby C looks completely healthy and is right on schedule for his debut on July 29, 2011. We cannot wait to meet this little guy!!!
