Year Two!

Marriage can be messy sometimes.....

but it's definitely a lot more fun when we're in it together!!

May 23, 2011 = 2 wonderful years of marriage

We can hardly believe it's been two years since we were married in the gorgeous D.C. Temple for time and all eternity! How grateful we are for the covenants we have made to the Lord and to each other! We will always remember that beautiful day when our lives became eternally sealed to one another. We are looking forward to many, many more years with each other and our growing family :)

Details of our anniversary weekend to come!

30 weeks

We made it to the 30 week mark! Only 10 more weeks to go until we meet our little guy! He has quite the personality already. He moves ALL the time, and he likes to hang out on my right side so my ribs sometime hurt. Sleeping has become a little uncomfortable, but it's definitely manageable. My belly button is looking strange--will it ever be normal again? I am also having a hard time bending down to tie my shoes, good thing Logan is there to help me when I need it! Here is my 30 week belly shot taken today.....

People, even little kids, are starting to notice that I am pregnant, not just fat. I work at a high school. The other day I went to use the restroom, but the work room ones were full. Uhh! So, I proceeded down to the daycare to use theirs. On my way out, one little boy (Jaxon) says: “Wow! You look like you are having a baby!” and I reply by saying, “That’s because I am having a baby!”

Jaxon along with another little boy (Eli) walk up to me and start touching my belly.  No big deal. While they take turns touching my belly, I start talking to the women working in daycare. Next thing I know, little Eli’s hands go from my belly and then gradually start to get higher. Oh no. He just touched my boobs!!! I was so embarrassed for him, me, and my boobs. Immediately after, Eli (in his sweet three-year old voice) asks: “Were those the baby’s legs?” I laughed SO hard and whispered, “No, the baby is right here Eli (pointing to my belly).” It was the funniest thing ever! The ladies in daycare saw the entire thing, and could not stop laughing. Poor kid. One day he'll figure out the female body...until then...I guess he can keep thinking those are the baby's legs!

Sorry if that was a little TMI, but it was just too good not to share…right?

Happy Weekend :)

chasing waterfalls plus a wedding

We are in the St. George, UT area visiting Logan's grandparents for the weekend, and it has been LOTS of fun!

We went to the Gunlock Reservoir and hiked to see the waterfall. There has been quite a bit of flooding in southern Utah, so the water from the reservoir seeped out into the red rocks and that is why we got to see these beautiful waterfalls. The last time this happened was about 5-7 years ago. Pretty neat stuff. The water was a little chilly, but very refreshing. We had a blast :)

We also went to Logan's cousin's wedding. It was fun getting to see many of the Corbett relatives. We won't be back in southern Utah for awhile, so it was nice to catch up with many of them. The wedding was great! After the eating, dancing and cake consuming, the newly married couple (Heather & Randy) along with a few bridesmaids jumped into the swimming pool while in their wedding attire. Next thing I know, there goes Logan and his grandma jumping in as well :) The Corbett family are a crazy bunch, but how I love and admire their adventurous ways! For instance, Logan's cousin (Jaimen) caught a sidewinder snake and a few lizards that he showed us on Friday night. Yes, he's crazy but so are most of the Corbett children including that husband of mine! They can do hard things!

baby crafts

Our little guy is getting a bunch of good stuff. I have been busy sewing for the past week, and so far I have made a car seat cover and nursing cover (pictures to come)! I am also going to make a baby quilt VERY soon. I'm not going to lie, I am sooo proud of myself for getting this all started and finished within a week or so. I just want to get as much done before our move next month. Hopefully, I can get the packing and cleaning done for our apartment too--yikes! Don't worry, mom, I'll make Logan do all the heavy lifting :)

Plus, once we get settled in North Carolina we'll be working on the baby's room. Yay! We came up with a great idea and we're excited to try it out!

Here is our inspiration....
Doesn't that look so perfect?
Yes, we think so too!

Happy Weekend :)

We are going to visit Logan's grandparents one more time before our move, go to a wedding, and enjoy the spring air--it'll be in the high 70's! So exciting!

Question: For all you moms and/or pregnant women out there, what car seat do you have or recommend? Help us! We are debating between a BabyTrend Flex-Loc or Graco SnugRide 35 or Chicco KeyFit 30.

Logan got a haircut (done by yours truly) and new glasses.
He's all set to graduate and start a new job in a few weeks, and boy does he look goooooood!

The end.
