Christmas in Virginia

Christmas was so special this year.
It was our first Christmas with our little boy AND we were able to spend it in Virginia with family.
What more could we have asked for?

Here are the high and lows of our Christmas....

Christmas 2011 Highlights
-playing in the huge jacuzzi tub (Massanutten)
-playing at the indoor water park and going on the FlowRider
-slumber party with the Corbett children on Christmas Eve
-getting absolutely spoiled with presents this year (OfficeJet printer, Kindle, Coach wallet & purse, etc.)
-going to church Christmas morning
-helping Hudson unwrap his many presents
-talking to Elder Carson Corbett
-eating a delicious seafood dinner
-day after Christmas shopping
-snuggling in the back of a truck while singing Christmas carols and looking at festive lights
-playing with the bow and arrows in the backyard

Christmas 2011 Lowlights
-sick Logan and baby Hudson

Although H and L got sick, we still had a great Christmas :)
We hope you all had a great Christmas too and wish you a happy new year!

Hudson = 5 months

I meant to post this earlier, but we've been out of town so it's a little late.
Hudson is 5 months old and getting bigger every day!

Some fun facts about Hudson:

-He rolls over all the time (back to belly, belly to back).
-He is starting to use his knees to scoot.
-He went swimming for the first time over Thanksgiving break and again during Christmas break.
-He is sleeping much better since he started sleeping on his belly. His bed time is slowly getting earlier too. Thanks everyone for your suggestions! He goes to bed between 8:30-9:30p.m. (unless we are in VA visiting family since it is hard sticking to a schedule when we are away from home).
-He has been eating solids every once in awhile. I won't be doing it consistently until he hits the 6 month mark, but he does love rice cereal and bananas.
-He is sitting up with little to no support and can do this for a few minutes at a time.
-He puts everything in his mouth.
-He hates traveling in the car at night, but is a great traveler during the day.
-He loves to be startled and it makes him laugh every time.

Happy 5 months, Hudson Boy :)
We love you!

The Christmas Season

Our little H is 5 months old today - Christmas Eve.

Maybe it's because H is almost half a year old or maybe it's the end of the year, but I have been feeling incredibly blessed lately.

I watched "The Nativity" with the Corbetts last night while rocking H to sleep. I couldn't help but watch in awe as Mary gave birth to the sweet baby Jesus, our Savior, in the humblest of places  - a manger. In that moment, I was reminded of my own son's birth and how much love I felt for him in the very first moment I saw him. I was also reminded of the magnificent gift Heavenly Father has given me. Not only has Heavenly Father given me the gift of motherhood, but the gift of his son - the greatest gift to mankind.

Merry Christmas!

A Birthday to Celebrate

Logan is another year older, wiser, cuter, and more fun (not "funner").
His birthday was last week (December 7).
He is officially getting old since he reached the quarter of a century mark.
We celebrated with shrimp scampi for dinner, confetti cake, ice cream, and presents.

We love you, Logan/Daddy. Happy Birthday!
