Camping near Asheville

The first weekend in April 2016 was spent with my parents! They decided to go camping with us (their first time ever). It was so much fun planning and then going with them. We spent two nights at Lake Powhatan Campground in the Pisgah National Forest (about 20 minutes from Asheville, NC).

We spent a few hours in Asheville before going to our campsite. It was our first time there. It's a really cool city! We grabbed lunch and explored the streets for a few hours.

This picture still makes me laugh. Hudson didn't want to be in the picture so he was hiding from the camera, but he didn't realize that we still got him in the picture. So funny.

At the campground, we spent some time hiking and fishing and looking for critters. I remember the second night was really windy and Amelia was ready to go home (she's not our camper....yet).

This was when we decided to go for a walk and ended up walking over 2 miles because we got lost.

We didn't realize until we got there that Hudson had packed his reptile/amphibian pocket guide in his backpack. It's a good thing he did because he found so many different critters - here's a red salamander. He was in boy heaven!

Down to the lake to go fishing

This is my all-time favorite picture of Hud and Mia. It captures the two of them perfectly - happy, adventurous, and partners in crime. I love these two!

31 weeks pregnant right here.

Charlotte snow

We had our first snow day of the season the end of January 2016. This was a huge snow storm that hit the east coast. My parents were in town visiting us for a few days, but ended up extending their trip because of all the snowzilla craziness in the DC area. We were so happy to have them for a week!

Hudson and Amelia loved the snow days. They were up early and ready to go every morning. Luckily, Logan was able to work from home and joined us in the mornings for some snow time too.

Logan was still in "training" mode for his big 20-miler during the snow storm.
He's crazy and dedicated, but mainly crazy. ;)

Raleigh NYE

We drove up to Raleigh for New Years Eve. We went to the annual Harris NYE party (see here for last year). It was so fun to see so many of our old friends and catch up with everyone. We also stayed in a hotel this time around and had a fun swim day with our friends. We also went to the Durham Life and Science Museum before we headed home (it's our favorite museum). We love our Raleigh friends and we are always so happy to go back to visit!

Sleeping beauty. She tried to stay up for the NYE countdown, but didn't quite make it.

These two

Bath buddies! I'm going to cry the day they have to stop taking baths together.

Grammy in Charlotte

Lucky us, we were able to have Grammy come visit for a few days in Charlotte. And then we had more visitors come see us... Heidi, Averal, and Addie (plus her 3 kids). We loved having family in town and showing them around the city. It's been tough not having any of the Corbetts live on the east coast anymore, so we are always happy to have little visits like this to catch up and hug them close.

Grammy will be coming out again in June 2016 for the arrival of Baby #3 AND we will also have the Corbett Beach trip in August (we can't wait)!!!

Grammy went with us to drop off Hudson at preschool. Lucky boy!

Video: Grammy & Mia being silly

When Grammy comes to town, we have big smiles all around!
Love this picture!

Corbett Girl Cousins!

That face! Averal is such a cutie pie!

I love how they have their arms around Averal here.

Second cousins
(Aiden, Amelia, Hudson, and Macie)

Amelia loves Heidi. She would follow Heidi and baby Averal around the whole time. So sweet!

This picture cracks me up. She was holding Averal pretty tight and not letting go.

If you notice Amelia is wearing a shirt that says "The best big sister!" -- that is how we announced to Grammy (and Heidi) and the rest of the Corbett side that we were expecting Baby #3.

Freedom Park is gorgeous in the fall and so are these girls!
I can already see how much "trouble" these two will get into when they are older. They are 1 1/2 years apart.

Grammy brings the sugar when she comes to visit and we loved this fun cookie making/decorating. She also sends treats and books to the kids for many of the holidays, and we always look forward to that too. We love Grammy and having her visit was the best!
