visiting Grandma & Grandpa Corbett

This past weekend (7/24 - 7/26), Logan and I along with our friends (John & Allison) went down to Central, UT (about 45 minutes or so away from St. George) to visit Grandma & Grandpa Corbett. Aunt Chris & her son, Jamien, were down there visiting too. We had so much fun visiting them. They are the BEST plus Grandma cooks the best food ever and we pretty much ate the whole weekend. Yummy food! I had a massive "food baby" the whole time I was there, really. It was just so fun and relaxing being down there. They have the cutest house and we got to do so many fun things! We went to a couple reservoirs, hot tubbing, went on a picnic up in Pine Valley, and went to a rodeo--where Logan and I got to be in the Donkey Watermelon Race (see video below)--it was so fun & way hard. Donkeys are not very cooperative. I fell off the donkey twice & hit my head pretty hard. Ouch! I still have a little bump on the back of my head. We didn't win, but it was still really fun...our donkey was cute. We named her Buttercup.

We went cliff jumping at Gunlock--so scary but I'm glad I did it! Allison & I made the guys tread water until we were ready to jump off the cliff (about 30 ft). Everyone kept saying I had to jump or I wasn't a TRUE Corbett...the nerve of them! The guys were probably treading water for about an hour before Allison & I decided to jump. They are troopers. At one point, another group came up because they wanted to jump so I kept telling them they could go first because I didn't want to jump just yet....then this older man came up behind me and kept saying to Logan down in the water "I'm going to push your wife of the cliff" and Logan just kept saying "Do it...please!" The man just kept getting closer to me and I was getting so nervous because I didn't want him to push me off, so I ended up jumping because I didn't want to be pushed! Logan was really grateful to that man, otherwise, I would have been up there for another hour or so. Logan along with his cousin Jaimen ended up jumping off the biggest cliff there (about 50 ft). I was impressed! I'm glad I have such a brave husband =)

We also played a bunch of games, ate delicious homemade Strawberry ice cream, and watched Mighty Ducks! We also went to church on Sunday and Grandma wanted Allison & I to sing in the choir so we did...although, I'm a horrible singer! Overall, it was such a fun weekend and we're so glad Allison & John came down with us. They are so much fun to be around. We're so excited for them...they get married in less than 3 weeks!

If we could, we would definitely go visit Grandma & Grandpa Corbett every weekend....

another update....

  • 4th of July was a good time. We went with a bunch of friends to a park about a mile away and had a picnic and watched the fireworks. We played games, threw around the frisbee, ate some good food, and played a little game of baseball. I had a little scare though....when we starting to play a board game I noticed that my wedding band & engagement ring were missing. AHHH!! Logan just looked at me with this look on his face like "you better find it!" so I was in a panic until I remembered that I had used a baseball mitt....so I ran down to where we were playing and looked inside the baseball mitt.....and THERE IT WAS!!! Yeah! I was soooo happy to find it! Logan said if I had lost it; he would have bought me a ring pop and I would of had to wear that until he could afford to get me another ring. Pssh.
  • Logan and I went to Bear Lake for the annual Korth (Logan's mom's side of the family) Reunion last Saturday (7/11). We had a BLAST! I also got to meet a lot of the Korth family--there are so many! I kept asking Logan...who's that? who's kids are they? They are a great BIG family and a ton of fun. They even told me the famous "Panda Bear" joke....good thing I already knew it. Thanks to the Corbett's =P The trip consisted of playing games, going out on the jet-ski, drinking delicious Raspberry shakes, and just having a fun time. We even got to see Heidi & Kate (Logan's younger sisters aka my new sisters). They are so fun. We brought Kate down with us on Sunday afternoon, and she spent the night at our place. She's fun to be around and she's so cute! We really like having company around because Logan and I are just well....pretty boring sometimes. So, if you are ever around Provo....come visit us!
  • I found a job....well....sort of....it's a paid internship! I'm helping this organization plan an event for next month called the Global Awareness Expo. It's going to be at the McKay Event Center right here in Orem, UT. It's going to be huge. They are expecting 20,000 people to attend. So far, it's been pretty laid-back. The nice thing is I get to work from home in my pajamas...so that is really nice! I basically research a bunch of different non-profit organizations and contact them to see if they want to participate in the Expo. I get paid for each organization that signs up! It's actually a really great cause and I've researched some amazing organizations that really care about making a difference. The Expo (what I am helping plan) is designed to raise awareness for all global and world issues by helping non-profit organizations gain support for their causes. If you know of any non-profit organizations that want to participate, let me know. It's a great way for them to raise awareness, gain financial support, and get volunteers to help their organization succeed. Check out the website at: octheory.org

update..

Just thought I'd update everyone on some events......
  • I'm learning to cook! yeah!! We try something new just about every day for dinner and it's been pretty fun! I made chicken fried rice the other night (I kind of made it up as I went) and it turned out really good! I was surprised....of course, it's not as good as my mommy's but hey! I'm just learning =)
  • Logan and I went to the Manti Pageant last Saturday with some friends of ours. It was a fun but long night....my little husband was a trooper driving us home. It was worth it...just to see the Manti temple.....absolutely beautiful! I want to go back and go inside next time.
  • I am beginning to like Provo....especially if you get to watch movies with your husband for just $2 on Tuesday nights at the dollar theatre. It's cheap and fun. It's great! I love it...we've seen a bunch of movies there already including Hannah Montana (haha I made Logan go see it...he actually liked it), The Soloist, and there are some other ones that I am forgetting right now.
  • I am STILL job hunting. I hate it but I just have to be patient. I'm still waiting to hear back from this one place, and I'm applying to others....yep yep.
  • Logan and I have a goal to visit all of the Utah temples within a year.....we've been doing pretty good! So far, we've been to.....Draper, Ogden, Provo, Mt. Timpanogas (I can't spell it?!), and Manti (although, this one doesn't really count because we didn't go inside!) It's been so fun going to the temples! I love going and it feels so good being inside!
  • We're playing BYU Intramural Frisbee this summer and it's so fun. Although, I'm sure the only reason I got asked to play was because I'm married to Logan. They want Logan to play (since he's good) and well, I guess they can't get him without me....I guess that's how it works now when you are married. I like it!

For your enjoyment...if you didn't enjoy this post...this will make you enjoy it...watch this video! Logan showed it to me the other day and I could not stop laughing =)
