Spring things (part 2)

More things happened this spring. Here is part 2.

Soccer Saturdays: We did another season of soccer shots. Hudson had a hard time not having the same coach as last fall. We requested Coach Megan, but her schedule had her teaching a younger group. So bummed. We were also out of town a lot in the spring, so Hud missed a few Saturdays in a row which made it even harder for him to feel comfortable with his "team." We will try again another season (right now he is doing swim -- more about that later).

Wearing the Chile jersey that Aunt Kate brought back from her mission (and the sunglasses).
This kid was acting like he was too cool for soccer or something.
Love him!

Video: Hudson playing soccer. This was his best practice (mainly because Grandpa & Austin were there cheering him on too). He had scored two goals prior to this.

Spring Days: We had great weather this spring and some rain. Most days we would just open all the windows and doors and soak in all the sun. We spent a lot of times exploring the parks and just being outside.
On some afternoons, I would pick Hudson and his friend (Charlie) up from preschool and they would have time to play together at our place.

We found this little lizard right on our porch (twice in a week). We decided to try to catch him and kept him for a day before letting him return to the wild.

Hud's doing really well on his balance bike. We think he will be ready for a bike with pedals this Christmas -- so exciting!

Celebrating Earth Day with our first picnic lunch of the year at Freedom Park

They love trying to feed the ducks.

I love our front porch and many days we set up our craft table.

This spring we let the kids paint a bird feeder and plant some seeds.
Super fun projects that the kids could do!

Rainy days means puddle jumping

Riding through the city in our jammies (this was for family night)

Park days with our girl
She was being particularly sweet this day giving out kisses.
I'm glad Logan was able to capture it.

We babysat for some friends one night and decided to be brave.
We got the wagon out and walked the kids to Romare Bearden to play in the water.
Super fun, but 4 kids under 4 was cray-cray.

Pre-hair cut

After his hair cut -- handsome, am I right?

Projects: With the weather cooler, I was finally able to finish some things around the house.

Bench project
Logan made this and stained it for me last fall. I finally got around to covering it.

Bench covered

Dining room transformation
Still have to finish the photo wall.

I re-upholstered and painted an old dining table chair.
This sits in our bedroom now as the desk/sewing chair.

Spring things (part 1)

We are always up to something and this spring proved to be quite an adventure! I'll let the pictures do the talking...

Dan Nicholas Park:
This place is super fun! It was our first time there. About 45 mins from us. We met up with my friends (Marisha and Megan) and their kids. It rained a little bit, but it was still a nice day to get out of the house and play with friends.

Pool Days at Ray's:
We went to preschool days at Ray's Splash Planet. It's when admission is half off. It's less than 5 minutes from our house, so it was the perfect place to go in the mornings to swim. These kiddos sure love the water!

Spartan Race:
Logan signed up to run a race with his cousin, Donnarae, and her husband (Jon) but they ended up moving away from Charlotte a few weeks before race day. Logan was left to run the race with Donnarae and Jon's friends who were super enthusiastic and encouraging along the way. Oh, and yes, they got super muddy. So proud of Logan. He is such a go-getter and loves to be active.

Playing in the city:
With the city as our front yard (basically), we got out and played a lot this spring. I sure love the Charlotte skyline and the adventures of roaming our city.

Farm Animal Days (in Raleigh, NC):
Even though we moved to Charlotte, there was no way we could miss our beloved Farm Animal Days. This was our 4th year going! It's become a tradition. We were only in town for 2 days, but we got to visit with some of our favorite friends. We sure love our Raleigh people and miss them so much.
