Arizona and Heidi's wedding

We traveled to Arizona middle of April for a wedding, Heidi (Logan's sister) and Matt's. My Aunt Martha and cousins (Dallin & Macey) live out there too, so we decided to make it into a trip and go for a whole week (you know, to get the most out of those plane tickets). I flew first with the kids, and Logan met up with us a few days later.

I was so nervous to fly solo with the two kids, but I was well prepared and it went smoothly - thank goodness! Amelia slept most of the way, and Hudson watched a movie on the iPad with his brand new headphones.

We spent the first few days with Aunt Martha and her family - zoo, butterfly pavilion, splash pads, and swimming. It was so nice seeing family and having them meet the kids. I stayed up way too late some nights talking to Aunt Martha, but it was well worth it. She's amazing, and so are my cute cousins!

Next up was Heidi's wedding. Logan flew in Monday night, and we had a lot of fun seeing all the extended family that came for the wedding - shout out to Darenna who I finally got to meet! :) She's great! I also got to meet a lot of the Arizona friends who I have heard so much about. What a fun time!

Heidi and Matt's wedding was wonderful. We had a groom's dinner the night before and then the sealing was the next day (Wednesday afternoon) followed by the reception. Delilas (my mother-in-law) did such a great job with the planning of the reception. It came together beautifully, and it was very Heidi - classic, beautiful, vintage. It was a happy day! Heidi, of course, looked beautiful and just so happy! I'm so glad we were able to be there for her big day. My favorite part of the wedding day was when Heidi and Matt came out of the temple and Hudson roared at them for a good minute. It was hilarious. I love my kid! See below for picture overload.

Moving

Logan is two weeks away from graduation, and has already accepted a job as a consultant (after 10+ interviews and 4 job offers). Seriously. His graduate program is remarkable.

We are moving to Charlotte, NC (about 2 1/2 hours from Raleigh). All of the job offers were enticing, but this particular position was the best choice for our family and a great opportunity for Logan's career. We just couldn't pass it up. In the beginning, we steered far from any consultant positions because of the heavy traveling required (not ideal for our young family). However, this consultant firm is a great fit. It requires little to no travel since all of it is within Charlotte (he'll be consulting with major banks in the area), and the hours aren't horrible (about 40 - 50 hours a week depending on his job load).

Plus, Charlotte is just a cool city - we really liked it when we went to visit and Logan's cousin and her family live in the area! We move the middle of May, and will be living in uptown for the first year or two. Logan can walk to work from our new place - score! We figure the kids are young enough, so we want to experience "city life" while we have the chance. We are sad to leave Raleigh (especially our friends), but feel so blessed and excited about this new phase in our lives! Who wants to visit us in Charlotte?

Baby girl = 6 months

Amelia had her very first half-birthday on March 25th! She woke up in the morning and I was talking to her saying "it's your half birthday!" when Hudson walked in and said, "Birthday? we're having cake today!" I had to quickly tell him that sister is a little too young for cake, so we would have to wait until her real birthday in September.

I can't believe she is already 6 months old. It went by so fast. She is still as cute as ever, although I hate to say it but she is losing her chubbiness - probably with all the rolling around and jumping she does on her bouncer. I still call her "chub-a-lub" though because there is no denying she still has the biggest, kissable cheeks.

Here are her 6 month stats:

Weight: 15 pounds 13 ounces (44%)
Height: 25 1/4 inches (28%)

A few pictures from the past couple weeks....

That was a rough night.

Blurry picture, but this was her first time in the pool
