sports, sports, and more sports

I'm so glad I have a husband that likes to play and watch sports =) I love it! There is something about watching sports...the excitement of it all that really gets me going! We've been to many BYU sporting events this school year, especially football and basketball games. So fun! Logan is a huge BYU fan....and like any good wife (I am too, although I never went to BYU)!

Also, Logan has been doing a lot of intramural sports this school year....he's done frisbee and football. He is currently on a intramural football team with his co-workers at the BYU's Marriott Center. It's fun to see the boys get so excited about a game and I get a little excited too! I even made them t-shirts for their game...it took a lot of time and help from the Rex's but we got it all done and they look pretty good! Oh, it's been determined that I am going to be a crazy soccer mom (i.e. yelling and cheering for the boys at the game and having Allison tell me to "shh")! Yay! This is no surprise to me though, I think I get this from my parents who are avid sports enthusiasts, especially my dad. If you think I am loud at the games, wait until you hear my dad at one of my brother's soccer games. And, when you put the both of us together....well, we're pretty much a riot.

Not to mention, how incredibly talented my little brother is at soccer. He has been playing since he was 11 years old (I got him into soccer, not my dad, thank you very much)! He's been playing soccer ever since in Division 1 travel teams and his high school varsity team. He is the captain again (his senior year of high school) and they are going to be awesome this year. Not to brag or anything, but seriously...I love my little brother and getting to watch him play soccer. I will seriously miss going to his games this spring. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he gets into Mary Washington University and is able to play soccer for them!!!

And, speaking of sports, March is quite possibly one of the best months of the year....and two words make this the greatest.....MARCH MADNESS! I love College Basketball....really love it! It's probably my favorite to watch. No joke. My family has always filled in brackets every year to see who would have the best prediction of winning the National Championship. I remember when I was 14 years old and Maryland won the Championship...I sat watching with my whole family. My parents even let my siblings and I stay up late to watch it. We love Maryland (that's where my dad went to school)! YAY! The next couple weeks  of March Madness are going to be fabulous!!

Here are some pictures of us and some of the sporting adventures we've been to and participated in so far this school year:

Roller Skating Adventure:

our awesome friend, Britni Wing...she even brought her own roller blades =)

Allison & John Rex, we love these two! They are so fun to hang out with!

BYU Basketball Games:

yes, Logan spray-painted his hair BLUE for the game.

Intramural Football Games:

look how cute that is.....the shirt I made! Carson is cute too, I guess.

decision made

Logan and I have finally decided where we will be for the summer months......drum roll please.....we'll be in....SOUTH CAROLINA! We both got internships for the summer and we're excited =) It's taken quite a lot of time, patience, and prayer to decide where to go and what to do this summer, but we figured it out and feel very good about this decision!

Some reasons why we chose to go to South Carolina:
  1. closer to our families in Virginia
  2.  this is a PAID internship (how rare is it to find a paid internship?)
  3.  the internship will pay for us to get there AND will pay for us to come back to Utah
  4. the internship will pay for our housing during the time we are there (May-August)
  5. Myrtle Beach is seriously 5 minutes away
  6. hot and humid weather....yes, I miss the humidity!
  7. more stable job (not like selling pest control or alarm systems)
  8. this internship will be beneficial for Logan since it is more along the lines of what he wants to get into
  9. our families will probably visit us (right????)
  10. very flexible.....we only have to work a minimum of 30 hours a week, but it can be more depending on our preference (great for me since I'll still be taking online classes for my Master's degree and working at the same time)

Now, doesn't that sound like we made a good decision? Yes!!!!!!!!!

Valentine's Day

We had a great Valentine's Day! We ended up celebrating Valentine's Day on both Saturday and Sunday, so that was really fun. On Saturday, we opened some of our presents. Logan got a new Memory Foam Pillow (I stole his once we got married, so I thought it only fair to get him another one) and two new ties for church. I got a flirty apron--it's so cute. I love it. I also got some money and spent it on a new wallet and a couple new clothes. Yay! And, Logan surprised me and brought home some flowers after playing football. So sweet. Saturday night we went to our Ward Valentine's Dance (yes, we are the Activities Committee co-chairs), so it was a little stressful but a big success. Everything looked beautiful and everyone seemed to enjoy it (pictures are below)! After the ward party, we went with the Rexs' to watch New Moon at the dollar theatre. Ha! Logan didn't like it very much, but I thought it was pretty good! I mean definitely not my favorite movie, but it was entertaining to say the least.

Sunday was a relaxing day! We were pretty tired from the ward party and getting home late after watching New Moon at the dollar theatre. Good thing we have 2pm church because we were able to sleep in!! I did manage to get up  and make  an incredible breakfast for Logan though--heart-shaped pancakes, bacon, and eggs. We went to church at 2pm, then we came home and Logan made dinner--steak & shrimp! So yummy! I loved it!

Overall, it was a great Valentine's Day and/or weekend....full of lots of food and sweets (you should see how much candy we have left from the ward party...crazy)! I guess we'll be on a sugar rush for the next couple of weeks....yay!
