I've never been good at finding deals or bargain shopping. NEVER. I find something and if I absolutely love it (after a few weeks of thinking about it...maybe), I buy it. Done. I don't care if it's $40 for a super cute dress or dark jeans that actually fit (meaning they are perfect length and make my bottom look good). I will dish out the dough to pay for it because I desperately NEED to have it.
On the other hand, my Aunt Mary is amazing at bargain shopping. Literally. I remember as a kid going shopping with my aunts and spending hours at Nordstrom's or Old Navy, just because they were looking for the perfect deals. Yes, I was spoiled by my aunts. What can I say?
I have resolved to be more economical (thanks to my husband, who is an Economics major). I am going to start thrift/bargain shopping. I just read this article and it inspired me. I don't consider myself very fashionable or creative when it comes to my clothing of choice, but I am going to do it! I will do it! Read this article. I found it highly inspiring and helpful. I hope you do too.
I am amazed at how someone (Sydney @ The Daybook) can find this at a thrift store:

Doesn't it look trashy? It's wrinkly. It has shoulder pads (shoulder pads, people). The sleeves are too long. I could go on and on about why I would NOT buy this.
BUT....
She somehow managed to turn it into this. Seriously? I know. It's amazing!
So, here's to a new way of doing things: thrifting (and yes, that is not even a word but neither was "Jimmered" and now look at).
