painting the nursery

We painted the nursery. It took us FOREVER to figure out what color we wanted to paint it, but after multiple trips to Lowe's - we finally settled on apple green. We love it! It is so refreshing and relaxing when you walk into the room. I actually found Logan working in there this morning (he started his new job this past Monday - it is challenging, but he likes it). We had a lot of fun painting! Logan did most of the work, but I did help a little :)

Before....

After....

The nursery is still not finished. I have a few picture frames to put up, the crib skirt to attach, curtains to put up, and his name over the crib (but we'll wait until he's born to show you)!

I really wanted to do this....
but decided against it because I honestly think the criss-cross effect looks better when using blue and white rather than green and white. Your thoughts?

We may try adding stripes in the future.....like this...
but I think we're both tired of painting for awhile :)

I'm 37 weeks today (sorry no picture because I'm still in my pjs and haven't showered)! I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and will continue to have one every week until the baby is here! The baby is in great position - head down and getting lower! Not dilated yet, but soon is what my doctor said. We found a pediatrician in the area and we are all registered at the hospital. Now, we just have to wait it out - any predictions on when Baby Corbett will arrive? I think he'll be born August 3rd or 4th (a few days late). Logan thinks he will be born on Harry Potter's birthday on July 31st. I guess we will see; we are getting so close!!

Okay, just kidding, I finally showered and got ready today....

2nd Anniversary Weekend

We celebrated our 2nd anniversary about two months ago, so this post is a little late. Sorry! Better late than never is what I say :)

Logan certainly spoiled me (like he does for any big celebration). Since our anniversary fell on a Monday this year, we decided to celebrate the weekend before. On Friday, Logan picked me up from work and started driving home except he wasn't going the right way! He drove me to the Seasons Spa in Provo and surprised me with a 1 hour prenatal massage while he went home to cook dinner. It was heavenly - I absolutely loved it!

After that, Logan came to pick me up and we drove home to where Logan had dinner cooking: steak, stuffed mushrooms, asparagus with bacon, and sparkling cider! Yum! I love it when Logan cooks for me. He gets so excited and ambitious about it! It turned out to be a delicious dinner!

Later that night, we drove to the Riverwoods and for Logan's anniversary present he got to try the surfing/flow-ride activity at the Provo Beach Resort. He loved it! I was a little jealous of all the fun he was having, but being 7 months pregnant I just couldn't do it. In all honesty, I think I had more fun watching him try it out...

Check out the videos of Logan:

His first try...

Finally, getting the hang of it...

On Saturday, we slept in for a few hours then went to Trafalga for glow in the dark mini-golfing. We had a lot of fun, especially when trying to figure out how to mini-golf with my big pregnant belly in the way :)

Later, we drove up to Ikea to look around and have lunch. We love Ikea! We spent almost two hours there. After that, we went to get slurpees at 7-11 (my favorite) and met up with our friends, the Rexes and Wings, for the BYU Rugby Championship game. It was our first time watching a rugby match and it was awesome! Even though BYU lost, we still really enjoyed being with friends and the experience! We went out to dinner after the game and then got stuck in traffic on the way home because of construction! Boo!

It was a busy weekend of activities, but we certainly had a great time celebrating 2 years of marriage!

We made it to Raleigh, NC!

We moved into our new place on Monday. It has been a stressful couple of days. We've been busy unpacking/unloading, arranging Internet and cable installation, figuring out health insurance with the move, finding a new OB/GYN practice, buying furniture, finding new grocery stores, decorating, etc. We're hoping things will calm down and we will be adjusted in the next few weeks before Logan starts his new job!

We are so grateful for our families, especially our parents, who have traveled down to NC to help us move in! They are troopers and we are very thankful :)

I will update with pictures of our new place as soon as it looks decent. It is such a mess right now, but we will get there. We love the area. It's warm and humid, but the people are friendly and we live in a nice neighborhood!

As far as baby news goes, Baby Corbett is progressing well. He is measuring right on schedule. We have about 5 more weeks to go! We are SO excited to meet him!

35 weeks

More updates to come soon...

maternity photo session

Our good friend, Allison, took maternity pictures for us when I was 31 weeks along. It was such a gorgeous day, and it was so fun having Allison take our pictures. She is wonderful! Check out her blog: Allison Rex Photography.
Thank you, Allison! We LOVE them :)
